Back in January I and six friends (One from India, the rest American) entered Myanmar from India at the land crossing.
We had a fabulous week and a half in Myanmar, and returned to India via the same crossing (Tamu/Moreh).
The guide we used--who was absolutely fantastic-- is Nyi Nyi, full name Winminzaw. He is at this site http://www.mogokeprince.com/profile.html, the first one.
We highly recommend him. He's smart, talented, and knowledgeable.
We had a driver who met us at the border and was with us the whole time.
His name is Naung Naung and it's his father's company.
He was an excellent driver and also fun to be with.
THis is that company: http://www.brightviewtravel.com/.
I have been traveling the world for almost forty years (since I was a teenager....) and am particular when it comes to hiring guides and drivers when need be.
Myanmar is one of those times when it's needed,
especially doing the land crossing.
We saw and did things that many tourists don't get to see or do.
I can't say enough good things about Nyi Nyi and Naung Naung.
I asked them for their email addresses too and when I get those I can send to you.
