One of the popular products from Shan region is the decorative hand-made Shan Paper. The paper is of various uses from the Shan traditional decorations to the beautiful packaging. It is made from the bark of the Mulberry (Broussonetia papyrifera). The manufacturing process is rather long. During a day, the fibers of mulberry tree are dipped into the water then get plastered in the wood fire during more than 5 hours with a mixture of wood ash or clay
